Hyde Klyne, real name Hidde Klijnstra, makes narrative shorts, documentaries and music videos in the roles of writer, director and gaffer, including services as spark as well. I aspire to create pieces that move people and try to bring my creativity into it to make something people have not seen before.

HYDEKLYNE is the filmmaking alias of Hidde Klijnstra — I'm ambitious to create story and bring it to screen, I dabble in a few aspects but mostly: Writing, directing and gaffing. Originally from the Netherlands, I've moved to the UK to bring myself closer to my passion and now am operating entirely from here, in London and outside. I went to Metfilm School for two years to do a BA in practical filmmaking, and graduated as a screenwriter.

I'm an experienced director on student projects and try to incorporate my style to make the best story and piece possible.

Writing
I have graduated as writer from Metfilm school in London, whatever I've directed I've also written and I enjoy bringing stories to the page.

LIGHTING
GAFFING · SPARKING
Beyond writing and directing, I work the floor as a gaffer and spark on other people's sets. Creating atmospheres for the visuals to flourish in, shaping frames, and running cable on narrative shorts, documentaries and music videos across the UK. Small units, fast turnarounds. Available to hire as gaffer and spark.

Gaffer
Designs and runs the lighting plan on set — keys, fills, practicals, and the mood they make together.

Spark
Powers and patches the rig — mains, genny, distro, and the cable runs that keep a shoot moving.
